44 Years of Bengaluru's Musical Soul

Nestled on the first floor of MG Road's iconic Public Utility Building since 1983, Ram's Musique Experience is Bengaluru's living chronicle of music evolution. Founded in 1982 by Kannur native Ramachandran ("Music Ram"), what began as a modest cassette counter at Blue Moon Complex has grown into the city's most cherished vinyl sanctuary.

From Cassettes to Vinyl Renaissance

Ramachandran arrived in Bengaluru in 1978 dreaming of the Air Force, but found his calling selling cassettes for Murphy Radio. Launching with just 30-35 cassettes, he rode the wave of 80s music mania - hosting stars like Shaan, Sagarika, Colonial Cousins, KK, Alisha Chinai, and SP Balasubrahmanyam for album promotions. Even AR Rahman's Vande Mataram (1997) sold 600 cassettes through his doors.

Through the LP decline, CD explosion, DVD era, and digital streaming, Ram's persevered. Today, alongside son Sangeeth Ram, they've launched Ram's Musique Experience - a 2024 expansion celebrating vinyl's triumphant return.

The Collection That Spans Generations

Over 2,000 vinyl records transport you across eras:

Music Ram's Philosophy
