Depeche Mode – Construction Time Again
Construction Time Again, released August 22, 1983, unleashes Depeche Mode's industrial synth revolution with metallic percussion assaults and Dave Gahan's brooding baritone propelling anthems like "Everything Counts," "Love, in Itself," "Pipeline," and "More Than a Party" recorded at The Garden Studios in London.
Marking Alan Wilder's full band debut alongside Martin Gore's political lyricism, this third Mute Records outing with producer Daniel Miller and engineer Gareth Jones pioneered sampled foundry hammers for raw rhythmic textures mixed at Hansa Studios in Berlin.
Hitting No. 6 UK and No. 7 Germany yet flopping stateside, Construction Time Again ignited their European breakthrough via the namesake tour as synth-pop's gritty factory-floor vanguard.
